In the early hours of Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, the life of 22-year-old Reginald Lamar Tabor Jr. was tragically cut short in his hometown of Moultrie, Georgia. A shooting incident at an apartment complex on Northside Drive Northwest claimed his life and left two others with non-life-threatening injuries. The male victims, aged 16 and 25, were also struck by gunfire during the altercation.
The events of that fatal morning reportedly began to unfold around 1:27 a.m. when law enforcement received a 'shots fired' call. The incident is said to have stemmed from a prior dispute. A man, later identified as 39-year-old Bryce Johnson, had gone to the apartment complex with his teenage daughter to confront a group of other girls. A large crowd was present at the time, and an argument broke out. The verbal confrontation soon escalated into gunfire.
Following the shooting, Reginald Lamar Tabor Jr. was rushed to a local hospital with severe injuries, but he was later pronounced dead. The Moultrie Police Department, with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Scene Unit, launched an investigation into the shooting.
Thanks to cooperation from the community, authorities were able to identify a suspect. Bryce Johnson was subsequently arrested in connection with the shooting and is being held at the Colquitt County Jail. Reports indicate that the victims, including Tabor, had no known connection to the suspect. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
