On the early morning of May 6, 2025, a tragic shooting incident occurred in Monroe, Georgia, resulting in the death of 17-year-old Etiennie Boakye, a Black male from Covington. At approximately 1:00 a.m., Monroe Police responded to reports of gunfire on Lacy Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Etiennie Boakye suffering from a gunshot wound.
