On a Friday afternoon in Washington, D.C., gunfire disrupted the day in the Congress Heights neighborhood. When police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1300 block of Savannah Place, Southeast, on April 18, 2025, they found a young man who had been shot. The victim, identified as 18-year-old Christopher Daniels of Southeast, D.C., was found unconscious and not breathing in the rear of the 1300 block of Congress Street, Southeast.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and
attempted to save his life, but their efforts were unsuccessful, and Christopher Daniels was pronounced dead. In the aftermath of the shooting, two other victims, an adult male and a juvenile male, transported themselves to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released by authorities.
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the homicide. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The police have asked for the public's help in gathering information about the incident and have offered a reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Christopher Daniels' death.
