In the early evening of January 20, 2025, a dispute at a Phoenix apartment complex escalated into a fatal encounter for 30-year-old Ronnie Roper. That night, police were called to the vicinity of 32nd Avenue and Indian School Road around 7:20 p.m. following reports of a fight.
