On January 18, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded in Mobile, Alabama, resulting in the death of Cristian Aponte, a 30-year-old Hispanic male. The event occurred around 7:35 p.m. near the Theodore Dawes Road overpass by Interstate 10. Upon arrival, Mobile Police Department officers discovered three men—Cristian Aponte, Marco Alvarado and Ángel Esparra —fatally wounded by gunfire. All three victims, identified as Puerto Rican, were pronounced dead at the scene.
