Triston Michael Bohannon, a 25-year-old male from Mobile, Alabama, was fatally shot on October 21, 2022. The incident took place at Paul Devine Park in Chickasaw, where Bohannon was at the amphitheater during the day. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest. He was a graduate of Baker High School and an entrepreneur, and was the father of two young children, a son and a daughter.
The investigation into Bohannon's death quickly led to the identification of suspects.
The Mobile County Sheriff's Office named 18-year-old Joseph Timmons as the gunman and sought public assistance in locating him. Investigators stated that the motive for the shooting was robbery, with Timmons allegedly stealing from Bohannon and a woman who was also at the park. A second suspect, 18-year-old Trevion Smiley Collins, was also identified and arrested in May 2023.
Joseph Timmons was apprehended and booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail in December 2022 on charges of murder and two counts of first-degree robbery. In April 2024, a Mobile County grand jury indicted Timmons on these charges. While out on bond awaiting trial for the murder, Timmons was arrested again in August 2024 on allegations of assaulting his girlfriend, which resulted in his bond being revoked.
Trevion Smiley Collins was also charged with murder and two counts of first-degree robbery. In January 2026, Trevion Collins-Smiley was found guilty of the murder and first-degree robbery of Triston Michael Bohannon. The final outcome of the court proceedings for Joseph Timmons has not been publicly reported.
