Her death was linked to the heinous crimes committed by Leonard Lake and Charles Ng, two serial killers who operated in California during the mid-1980s. Allen was among the victims whose remains were discovered at Lake's remote cabin in Wilseyville, California. Investigators identified her through forensic analysis of teeth and bone fragments.
