Maurice Thompson

Maurice Thompson, a 3-year-old child, tragically lost his life on October 9, 1978, in Dallas, Texas. His death was part of a horrific crime in which his mother, Vivian, and his infant sister, Latoya, were also killed. Vivian, who was only 18 years old at the time, suffered multiple stab wounds and burns before succumbing to her injuries. Maurice and Latoya perished from smoke inhalation and burns after their home was deliberately set on fire following their mother’s murder.
