Suzanne Rene Richerson, a 22-year-old Caucasian woman, was last seen on October 7, 1988, while working as a night clerk at Casa Del Mar Condominiums in Galveston, Texas. Her disappearance remains one of the many unsolved cases linked to the infamous Texas Killing Fields, an area known for numerous disappearances and murders of young women.
On the morning of her disappearance, another employee sleeping in the room above Richerson's office was awakened by a scream, followed by the sound
of a car door slamming in the parking lot. A second scream was heard before the vehicle drove away. Security guards who had just finished their shift at 6 a.m. were the last known individuals to see her. Richerson left behind her purse, school books, and car, and one of her shoes was discovered in the parking lot. Despite extensive investigations, her body has never been found.
Authorities suspected Gabriel Soto, a 39-year-old man, in connection with Richerson's disappearance. However, Soto was never formally charged. On July 31, 2002, he died from an apparent drug overdose, leaving investigators without a definitive resolution to the case. Richerson's disappearance remains an open investigation, with law enforcement continuing to seek answers in a case that has haunted the Galveston community for decades.
