Roxanne Colley, a 21-year-old African American woman, was found murdered in her Kansas City, Missouri home on August 16, 1999. A friend, concerned after not hearing from her for three days, discovered her body inside the residence on Askew Avenue. The back window had been broken, indicating a forced entry. Colley had been raped, beaten, and her throat was slashed. Semen was found on her body, and DNA evidence was collected during the autopsy.
