Michael Wallace, a 67-year-old African American man, was brutally murdered in November 1978 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He and his wife, Dora Wallace, aged 55, were killed in their home by Andre Jones, a known spree killer. Jones decapitated Michael and fatally stabbed Dora before setting their house on fire.
