Rosine Van Jassand, a young woman employed by H.H. Holmes in his Chicago fruit and confectionery store, became one of his lesser-known victims in 1891. Holmes, notorious for his manipulative and controlling behavior, coerced Rosine into living with him, threatening her with death if she interacted with customers. Isolated from the outside world, she was kept hidden within the premises of the store.
