Frederick Donald Hudler, a 44-year-old Caucasian male, was tragically killed on January 24, 2008, in what was later determined to be a robbery gone wrong. He was found dead alongside his father, Ronald "Ron" Hudler, and their employee, John Miller, at Ron's home in Grassy Creek, North Carolina. All three victims suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head.

Frederick Hudler was a well-respected businessman who had joined his father and brothers in managing their successful Christmas tree farm.
