On October 6, 2007, 17-year-old Andre E. Thomas was murdered while sitting in Spring Valley Park, located at 27th Street and Euclid Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. when a gunman entered the park and began firing at Andre. Andre attempted to flee but was pursued and ultimately shot fatally by the gunman.
