On July 14, 1981, 8-month-old Jennifer Evonna Daniels, an African American infant from Perry, Florida, died under suspicious circumstances while in the care of her babysitter, 17-year-old Christine Falling. Jennifer's mother had briefly left her daughter with Falling while running errands. Upon her return, Falling reported that the baby was not breathing.
