Gail Ficklin, a 24-year-old Black woman, tragically lost her life on August 15, 1985. Her body was discovered in an alley located on the 9800 block of Grandee Avenue in Willowbrook, Los Angeles. The cause of death was determined to be strangulation. This heinous crime occurred in an area that had already been plagued by a series of murders, many of which were later attributed to multiple serial killers operating in South Los Angeles during that period.
