Deedah Godzari, a 22-year-old Iranian woman, tragically lost her life on December 2, 1979, in New York City. Her death was a result of a gruesome murder committed by Richard Cottingham, a serial killer infamously known as the "Times Square Killer" or "Torso Killer." Deedah, who had migrated from Iran and worked as a sex worker, was found in a burning hotel room alongside another unidentified woman.
