Bernice Courtemanche, a 17-year-old Caucasian female, tragically lost her life under mysterious and violent circumstances. On May 30, 1984, Bernice was last seen in Claremont, New Hampshire, around 3:30 p.m., reportedly hitchhiking to her boyfriend's home in Newport. She was a high school student and part-time nurse's aide, described as a kind and hardworking individual. Her disappearance was reported the following day, sparking concern and initiating an investigation.
