On January 11, 2012, Lashown Fils, a 26-year-old man from Long Beach, California, was fatally shot in the early morning hours near the 200 block of West 14th Street. Long Beach police responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 3:55 a.m., and upon their arrival, they found Fils lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was transported to a local hospital, but despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
