On February 16, 2025, Edgar Ortiz-Escamilla, a 32-year-old Latino male from Long Beach, California, was fatally shot in the 1700 block of Long Beach Boulevard. Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered evidence of a shooting but did not immediately locate the victims.
