John Harmon Mundine, a 42-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was a Deputy Sheriff in Lee County, Texas. On April 17, 1903, Mundine was accidentally wounded by his own pistol when it fell from his pocket as he was disembarking from the Aransas Pass train in Lexington. The bullet entered his stomach, and despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to peritonitis caused by the pistol wound to his bowels the following day.
