Quirl Bailey Carnes, a 26-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was a Texas Ranger who tragically lost his life on July 31, 1910. Carnes was part of a posse that included Constable Earl West and Special Deputy Henry Lawrence, lying in wait for Jacinto Trevino, a murder suspect. The posse was led to a deserted spot near San Benito by Trevino's brother, Pablo, who claimed Jacinto would surrender there.
