Constable Charles A. Holloway, aged 35, was shot and killed on November 26, 1911, in Wilbarger, Texas. Holloway, who served in the Wilbarger County Constable's Office - Precinct 7, was attempting to arrest two men suspected of robbing a bank in Odell, Texas, the previous week. The suspects were apprehended as they tried to cross the Red River into Oklahoma. During the arrest, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and opened fire, fatally wounding Holloway.
