Robert Wayne Whalen Jr., a 9-year-old boy from Corpus Christi, Texas, tragically died on December 31, 1971. His death was part of a devastating incident that also claimed the lives of his father, Robert Wayne Whalen Sr., and his siblings. The family was attacked in their home, and the perpetrator was later identified as a fellow Navy Chief Petty Officer stationed at the Corpus Christi Naval Station.
