Arturo Noel "2D" Cantu, a 24-year-old Hispanic male from Corpus Christi, Texas, tragically died on April 30, 2018. Cantu was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the 1500 block of Casa de Oro Drive. According to court documents, witnesses reported seeing two men in the area, one wearing all black and the other wearing khaki pants. Shortly after hearing gunfire, they found Cantu lying on the ground.

Police discovered a tan Buick with fresh blood on the passenger side near the scene. In the backyard of a nearby residence, they found 25-year-old Juan Saldana, who was allegedly seen by witnesses fleeing the scene. Three guns, matching the caliber of the casings found around Cantu's body, were also discovered hidden under a shed in the backyard. Saldana was arrested and taken into custody, with bail set at $750,000.

However, despite the initial arrest and evidence, a Nueces County grand jury later declined to indict Saldana, citing insufficient evidence to formally charge him. Saldana maintained his innocence throughout the investigation, and his attorney stated that his client was relieved by the grand jury's decision.

The case remains unsolved, and no one has been formally charged with Cantu's murder. The investigation into Cantu's death continues to be a point of interest and concern for the Corpus Christi community.
