Paul Douglas Hulsey Jr., a 30-year-old male police officer with the Beaumont Police Department, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on March 22, 1988. Officer Hulsey was investigating a vehicle with stolen plates when he spotted it in a hotel parking lot. After running the vehicle's tags, he learned it was stolen and requested backup.
