Donald Roy Stockburger, a 63-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, tragically lost his life on December 11, 1990, in Fort Stockton, Texas. He was a dedicated deputy sheriff with the Pecos County Sheriff's Department, having served for ten years. Deputy Stockburger was assisting in stopping a man suspected of stealing items from several vehicles when the incident occurred. The suspect was in a stolen vehicle and had several guns at the time of the stop.
