On August 24, 2024, in Fort Stockton, Texas, 20-year-old Alejandro "AJ" Lozoya was fatally shot in the 400 block of South Oklahoma Street around 1:45 p.m. Responding officers from the Fort Stockton Police Department (FSPD) found Lozoya unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
Shortly after the incident, 21-year-old Julius Rey Ramos, accompanied by family members, voluntarily entered the FSPD lobby to report the shooting. Ramos was arrested without incident and charged with murder.
