On January 4, 1998, Christopher Thomas, a 34-year-old Black male, was tragically shot and killed in Houston, Texas. At the time of the incident, Thomas was sitting in his car outside his residence, listening to music, when he was approached by Franklin DeWayne Alix, a 22-year-old Black male. Alix robbed Thomas and subsequently shot him in the head, leaving his body lying on the ground. This senseless act marked the culmination of a violent crime spree by Alix that spanned several months.
