Kenisha Shavonne Dixon, a 21-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on May 9, 2000, in Houston, Texas. She was fatally shot at her apartment on Forum West Drive when she answered the door around 11:10 a.m. Dixon was holding a handgun at the time, which suggests she may have been fearful for her safety.
