Senior Corporal Norman Stephen Allen Smith, aged 43, was a dedicated officer with the Dallas Police Department. On January 6, 2009, he was tragically shot and killed while attempting to serve an arrest warrant for aggravated assault. Corporal Smith and several members of the Gang Unit went to a home on Wadsworth Drive in Dallas to execute the warrant.
