Donald Coffey Jr., a 7-year-old boy from Westlake, TX, tragically died on May 9, 2009, after being shot by Sheila Muhs with a 12-gauge shotgun. Coffey Jr., who was of Caucasian ethnicity, was with his father and friends, joyriding near a levee and swimming in the Trinity River when the incident occurred. The Muhses, who were the homeowners, allegedly fired at Coffey Jr. and three other people, claiming they were trespassing.
