On September 20, 2013, Israel Alvarez Jr., a four-year-old Hispanic boy from Rice, Texas, tragically lost his life in what was later determined to be a murder-suicide. Israel was one of three children, along with his brothers aged 10 and 8, who were found shot to death inside their family home. Their mother, Guadalupe Ronquillo-Ovalle, also died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
