Karen Elizabeth Knechtel Mero, a 27-year-old woman, was last seen on February 15, 1997, in McCloud, California. She was on the front porch of the home of Ed Henline Sr. and his wife, which was located on east Minnesota Avenue. At the time, Mero had been living at the residence with her boyfriend, Ed Henline Jr. Following her disappearance, Mero was not immediately reported missing.
