Brince Edward "B.J." Shaw Jr., a 21-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on April 18, 2014, in Arlington, Texas. He was fatally shot at Marti Van Ravenswaay Park following an altercation. The incident occurred around midnight when Shaw and his friend, Timothy Pickens, were approached by a vehicle from which gunshots were fired. Shaw was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Medical Center of Arlington, while Pickens survived the attack.
