On May 17, 2022, 19-year-old Mareon Robertson was fatally shot outside an Arlington, Texas motel. The incident occurred around 6:05 p.m. when Robertson exited the backseat of a vehicle and was approached by 18-year-old Toby Garcia, who shot him as he attempted to flee. Robertson succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
