Kathrine Gingrich, a 26-year-old woman, was found dead on September 2, 2014, in her apartment located in the 14000 block of Alderson Street, Houston, TX. Her body was discovered by her boyfriend around 4:00 PM when he returned from work. He last saw her alive early that morning around 6:30 AM. Upon finding her, he contacted his aunt, Linda Campos, who lives nearby. They returned to the apartment and called 911.
When deputies arrived, they found Kathrine Gingrich lying face down, already deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Authorities also discovered the body of Johnny Holcomb, a 33-year-old neighbor, in a separate apartment within the same complex. Holcomb had also been shot and killed. Holcomb's wife, Wilma, mentioned that he had been staying at the apartment for only a week after a falling out, and they were in the process of reconciling. Holcomb had eight children and was trying to turn his life around. The motive behind the killings remains under investigation, and deputies have not identified any possible suspects or confirmed if the case is thought to be a murder-suicide.
