Johnny Lee Holcomb, a 33-year-old man from Houston, Texas, was tragically found dead on September 2, 2014. His body was discovered in his apartment at a duplex in the 14000 block of Alderson Street in northeast Harris County. apartment for only a week after reconciling with his wife, Wilma. His wife expressed hope that the authorities would uncover the truth behind the murders, as she believed Johnny was turning his life around and had eight children who depended on him.
Detectives linked the murders of Holcomb and Gingrich to Kimberly Nicole Cormier and James Earl Nicholas. Cormier, who was arrested after a shootout with police, confessed to participating in several homicides, including those of Holcomb and Gingrich. Nicholas was killed during the shootout, but Cormier survived and faced capital murder charges.
