Edgar Tapia, a 21-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost his life on November 1, 2014, in Houston, Texas. He was fatally shot while walking back to his apartment with his wife and children after visiting family members. As they walked through the apartment complex, they were confronted by a black male who displayed a gun. Tapia instructed his wife and children to run, which they did, but he was shot in the side and later pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital despite
undergoing surgery.
The Houston Police Department launched an investigation into the incident, describing the shooter as a black male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium build, wearing a black hoodie and jeans. A second possible suspect was also described as a black male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build. The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a red two-door Honda, driven by the second suspect. The investigation remains open, and anyone with information is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers.
Despite the ongoing investigation, no arrests have been made, and the case has not led to any significant litigation or murder charges. The community continues to seek justice for Edgar Tapia, hoping for a resolution that brings closure to his family and friends.
