Marqueis Deshawn Rutherford, a 29-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on March 1, 2018, in Houston, Texas. He was fatally shot at a motel in the Third Ward area. Rutherford was in a motel room with two women when they heard a knock at the door. When Rutherford opened the door, he was shot by an unknown suspect. The two women in the room were also wounded but survived and were transported to a hospital in stable condition.
