Shawn Dehn Summers, a 37-year-old man from Lubbock, Texas, tragically died on October 31, 2015. His death was part of a double homicide case that involved his ex-girlfriend, Jessica Payton, and her lover. Summers was found shot and burned in his vehicle near East Loop 289 and 19th Street. The investigation revealed that he was lured to the location by text messages promising sexual favors, only to be ambushed and killed by Mark Bethel, who was waiting in the area.
