On a frigid December morning in 2017, the city of St. Louis was awakened by the news of a shocking triple homicide. Among the victims was Dominique Lewis, a 24-year-old woman with her whole life ahead of her. Lewis, along with her two friends, Reeba Moore, 25, and Chanice White, 24, were gunned down in the early hours of December 22nd in the Fairgrounds neighborhood. The three women were attempting to flee a home invasion when they were tragically shot and killed inside a car. The case sent shockwaves through the community, not only for its brutality but also for the fact that the perpetrators remained at large. Years later, the investigation into the murders of Dominique Lewis, Reeba Moore, and Chanice White is still ongoing, with law enforcement continuing to seek leads to bring those responsible to justice. In a separate and unrelated incident in January 2022, another life was cut short in the St. Louis area. Thirty-year-old Dominique Williams died in a Hazelwood home, a suburb of St. Louis. An altercation reportedly broke out between Williams and another man, Mycheal A. Emerson, over Williams's living arrangements in the home and a disagreement about cleaning the bathroom. The dispute escalated, and Williams was allegedly choked to death. Emerson was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter in connection with Williams's death. His bail was set at $250,000.
