On January 29, 2016, Christopher Michael Dew, a 29-year-old male of unknown ethnicity, was fatally shot by Irving, Texas police officers. Dew, who had a prior conviction for aggravated robbery in 2007, attempted to rob a check-cashing store on Esters Road in Irving.
