Jade D. Hamilton, a 16-year-old from St. Louis, Missouri, was shot and killed on February 20, 2011, while sitting in a car at Mt. Pleasant Park. On that fateful day, Jade was in the vehicle when three young men approached and opened fire, striking her in the neck. Tragically, Jade was not the intended target of the shooting, a fact that only deepened the pain felt by her family. She succumbed to her injuries shortly after the shooting, leaving her loved ones in shock and disbelief.
