Hiram Joseph Vaughn Jr., a 35-year-old Black/African American man, was shot to death in the pre-dawn hours of April 20, 2016, outside his home in the Kenswick/Humble Heights area of Humble, Texas. Deputies were dispatched around 2:50–3:00 a.m. to the 20100 block of Southern Leaf Drive where they found the 35-year-old male lying in the driveway with fatal gunshot wounds.
