On June 28, 2016, 14-year-old Melody Cerros, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, tragically lost her life. She was fatally shot in the head by Ryan Rodriguez, a 21-year-old man, at a house party on the Northwest Side of San Antonio. Rodriguez claimed that he thought the gun was unloaded when he pointed it at Cerros and pulled the trigger. Unfortunately, Cerros died instantly from the gunshot wound.
