Lee Kendra Childs, a 19-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting on September 13, 2016, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred just one day before her 20th birthday. Childs was at her apartment in the Uvalde Ranch complex when the shooting took place. According to witnesses, a black Chevrolet Camaro with tinted windows stopped outside the apartment complex and fired multiple rounds aimed at the second-level apartment where Childs was located.
