Despite efforts to save him, Roy was taken off life support three days later. In a final act of generosity, Roy's organs were donated, saving the lives of four individuals.
The investigation into Roy's murder led to the arrest of another 15-year-old boy on October 26, 2016. The suspect, who has not been publicly identified due to his juvenile status, was charged with manslaughter.
