Carla Marizol Carias, a 22-year-old woman tragically lost her life on December 13, 2016, in Houston, Texas. She was visiting her boyfriend at the Tropicana Apartments in southeast Houston when the incident occurred. Around midnight, Carla and her boyfriend's father heard someone breaking into her car. They went outside to investigate, and as the burglars fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan, one of them fired a shot, hitting Carla in the heart.
