In the late hours of a Thursday evening in St. Louis, a knock at the door shattered the night's quiet on Peck Street. It was September 1, 2011, when a man in a ski mask arrived at the home of 35-year-old Corry L. Calvin. When the door was opened, the masked figure opened fire.
Corry, a Black male, was struck in the chest. In a desperate attempt to escape, he ran from his house and collapsed onto the sidewalk outside.
The gunman fled the scene, leaving behind a fatal encounter that police at the time believed was connected to drugs.
Despite the initial investigation and the belief that the shooting was drug-related, the case grew cold. To this day, the identity of the man in the ski mask remains unknown, and no arrests have ever been made in connection with the murder of Corry L. Calvin. The case officially remains unsolved, with no one having been charged for the crime.
